We’re over the moon that intO has been named a finalist in the Global Agency Awards for Multi-Territory Agency of the Year!

Who We Are

At intO, we are passionate about understanding people. Our user-centred research helps multinational clients like Google, Amazon, WhatsApp, and Pinterest ensure their products, services and communications hit the mark in every market. We understand that the world is wonderfully diverse, and our research approach reflects that.

Our unique strength lies in our network of 130 freelance Local Researchers. They live, speak, and understand ‘local’ in over 50 countries. With 41 languages spoken among our team, each researcher brings a wealth of knowledge and cultural insight that is crucial for our work.

Our Recent Success Stories

Here are a few examples of our work that showcase why we’re finalists:

  • WhatsApp User Insights, 2023: Our research in Peru and Ghana provided in-depth behavioural insights, leading to usability improvements for WhatsApp’s Communities feature.
  • The Wellcome Trust, Brand Perception, 2023: We studied global perceptions of Wellcome across multiple countries, delivering insights and recommendations to enhance brand perception.
  • Google/YouTube Competitor Analysis, 2024: In the USA, Canada, India, and South Korea, we revealed shopping feature developments for YouTube by analysing the competitive landscape and mapping user workflows.

In April 2024 alone, we conducted research in 12 different countries with 34 Local Researchers on the ground. Additionally, we were recognised as a registered diverse supplier as part of Google’s Diversity Programme.

Our Vision and Achievements

We aim to be the most globally equity-oriented research firm on the planet. Our commitment to ‘glocalisation’—business that considers both local and global contexts—is central to everything we do. We ensure that our Local Researchers are compensated above industry standards, and we continuously expand our presence to new regions.

Key Achievements in 2023-24:

  • Expanded our presence from 50 to 58 regions, adding countries like Jordan, Kenya, and Uzbekistan.
  • Increased our team of Local Researchers in emerging markets such as Brazil and Nigeria, growing from 40 to 70 members.
  • Doubled the number of UX-specialist Researchers in the worldwide team from 20 to 40.

Looking Ahead

We’re dedicated to maintaining cohesion across our globally distributed team by upholding shared standards and values. We’re also addressing the AI divide to ensure all team members have equitable access to AI tools, empowering them to work efficiently and effectively.
