After coming to CB/I in the midst of slumping sales, Melinda Maria needed to recover their losses and establish a more effective strategy for growth into the future. We turned our focus away from their promotional calendar and delved deeply into their products. Utilizing their best-sellers and identifying a range of products with untapped potential, we created dedicated campaigns for each piece and tested meticulously to expand their customer base.
Our strategy was further enhanced by two proprietary technologies: Playmaker AI and Conative. Playmaker automated bidding on Google Search campaigns, consistently reducing CPCs by 40-50%. This not only improved Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) but also provided additional budget for extensive testing and insightful data analysis.
As these successful campaigns accelerated sales, we uncovered a challenge—core products frequently went out of stock, forcing us to pause campaigns until inventory could be replenished. This misalignment between marketing and inventory led to the development of Conative, an AI solution that aggregates data from both marketing and inventory to provide accurate sales forecasts, and proactively advise the inventory team on when – and how much – to restock in order to avoid running low on best selling products. By putting all this data into a single, customizable dashboard, Conative also streamlined the collaboration between marketing and inventory teams, leading to much better alignment on growth for Melinda Maria.
Despite the uncertainty we all faced in 2022, this combination of strategy and technology led to exceptional results. Sitewide revenue saw 47% growth in Year-over-Year, Facebook revenue increased by 66%, Google was up 67%, and TikTok revenue grew by 6X.
Furthermore, Conative has become an integral part of Melinda Maria’s day-to-day operations, receiving positive feedback and invaluable insights that have contributed to the continuous enhancement of the platform.
