Megantic is a global, eCommerce-focused Organic Search (SEO) specialist agency headquartered in Australia. Securing the finalist position for four awards at the Global Agency Awards is a significant achievement and inspires their team to consistently deliver exceptional results for clients.

Creating the dream team

Over the past 12 years, the Megantic team has grown from two founders to over 140 individuals worldwide. A big challenge lay in connecting teams globally and fostering a strong workplace culture, while living many miles apart. Other agencies may be smaller and work from the same office where collaboration is simpler, but this team is spread over the continents.

  • 67% in Macedonia
  • 24% in Australia
  • 6% in Canada
  • 4% in the UK

Team culture is the priority

Leaders at Megantic strongly believe that their team is their greatest asset and are committed to prioritising the growth of a strong team culture. They have implemented various initiatives across teams, which have shown great improvements in productivity, client satisfaction, and employee happiness.

“At Megantic, we’ve seen firsthand the impact of our culture initiatives on employee productivity and happiness. By prioritising inclusivity and support, we’ve created an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work,” says Megantic General Manager, Jeremy Hanger.

Some key initiatives at Megantic include:

  • Launching a global staff recognition program to improve connection.
  • Career coaching to nurture each individual’s specific career aspirations and development goals.
  • Watch-me-work sessions are a global initiative to foster an understanding of each team’s daily duties and enhance collaboration & communication.
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring as informal training to relay training in specific tools and skills.
  • Lunch-and-learn sessions where internal and external experts are invited to present to the teams to upskill in a variety of areas, work-related and personal.
  • Attending external training & events to collaborate with the wider marketing communities and to upskill.
  • Establishing a global employee engagement platform to conduct team-wide surveys and gather feedback.
  • Creating an online training platform for every department to centralise resources, acting as a repository for training materials and aiding in an ever evolving tech space.

“Megantic empowers staff with a much larger degree of personal accountability and trust than other agencies I’ve worked for,” says a new hire. “There’s a clear focus on high performance, but not in the traditional clock-watching or grinding sense. Results and great work (across both hard metrics like campaign performance and soft ones like community mentoring) are celebrated, and people go above and beyond because they’re motivated to, not expected to.”

Despite the Megantic team being spread globally, they are united by a shared goal: to deliver what is best for the team and clients. Through open communication and mutual respect, they have cultivated a close community where differences are embraced, and every voice is valued.

Finalist for the Best SEO Campaign

Megantic are also finalists for the Best SEO Campaign with their client Hardkorr.

“We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for this global award,” says Technical Project Manager, Dale Underwood. “It’s a reflection of the outstanding results we’ve achieved in partnership with our clients. This recognition motivates us to keep delivering exceptional work that drives business growth.”

What makes this campaign standout is the sheer step incline in page 1 keyword growth that has taken place over the past 1-2 years. First page rankings increased by 47% and top three rankings by 81%. Better yet, the website has come off the back of a migration and their new domain has only existed for a year prior.

“Together, we’re not just a team, but are committed to harnessing the power of diversity and skill to grow the field of SEO.”
